Dadasaheb Phalke, the father of Indian Cinema’s biopic already attracted a controversy with two films being made. One of the movies is directed by SS Rajamouli with NTR in the lead role. While the other one is reportedly by Raj Kumar Hirani, starring Aamir Khan in the lead role. Adding more fuel to the ongoing controversy, Dadasaheb Phalke’s grandson Chandrasekhar Srikrishna Pusalkar criticised Rajamouli and extended support to Hirani.
With a clear voice, Pusalkar stated that Rajamouli never contacted him for the biopic but one of the Hirani’s assistants was in touch with him and gathering the details.
“If someone is making a film on Phalke ji, then at least the family should be talked to. Aamir and Hirani are handling the sensitive subject very well with diligence and transparency. Hirani’s assistant producer Hindukush Bhardwaj had been in touch with me for three years, regularly visiting and gathering information,” Palaskar said.
“I will be happy if Aamir Khan acts in the film because he approaches it with utmost honesty. When Hirani is also there, I am sure it will be good,” he added.
The film in the combination of Aamir Khan and Hirani is expected to hit the floors in October 2025. On the other hand, there is no clarity on when Rajamouli’s film will hit the floors.
