CID is returning on our TV screens after six years. The fans are excited to watch the new season and hope that it is as good as it was for 20 years! Dayanand Shetty, aka Daya Shetty, has now opened up about working on the crime investigation drama. In an interview, Shetty talked about filming the show in a’military’ kind of setup for years, the challenges actors face and much more.
In an interview with YouTube Channel AP Podcast, Dayanand Shetty talked about shooting for CID for so many years. The actor said that the show was very different and the location and co-stars kept changing. Sometimes, they would shoot with a big star and sometimes with other actors. They had 15–17 locations in every episode; hence, they never got bored of working on it. Further, he said that for every actor, working on the set was a job and nobody was a star. He called the cast “labourers” on CID.
Further in this entertainment news, Daya Shetty said that in other shows, every actor wants their vanity van, regardless of their status. But that wasn’t the case on the sets of CID. At least 7-8 people used to get ready in a single makeup room. The separate compartments were opened to make a bigger space where the cast can eat and chill together. Shetty revealed that no one was considered a big or a small actor and no one was treated differently.
“We were all human beings, treating each other with respect. It was like a military setup—everyone did their job, and no one felt superior or inferior. We have never told the director that we can’t jump in that as it is dirty. We have gotten down in manholes, sewage, and so much dirty water that I can even speak about it for a scene. You don’t say no. Shooting was done on a military level,” added the Singham Again actor.
Along with Dayanand Shetty, CID also stars Shivaji Satam and Aditya Srivastava in the lead roles.
