The Centre government on Tuesday notified a scheme offering cashless treatment for road accident victims nationwide, news agency PTI reported.
Union Transport Minister had in January announced that the government would come up with a modified scheme for road accident victims under which they will be entitled to a cashless treatment of a maximum amount of ₹1.5 lakh per accident per person.
“The broad contours of the pilot programme are — victims entitled to cashless treatment up to a maximum of ₹1.5 lakh per accident per person for a maximum period of 7 days from date of the accident,” Gadkari had said while addressing a press conference.
The National Health Authority (NHA) would coordinate with the police, hospitals and State Health Agency among others in order to implement the programme.
