In the initial days of Celebrity MasterChef, revealed that he is a vegetarian. Thus, he cannot taste the dish while preparing any non vegetarian meal. Given that the task was about roasted chicken, Gaurav Khanna took help of Faisal Shaikh to taste his dish before serving it to the judges. In a viral clip, we see the Anupamaa star being nervous about his dishe as he is unsure whether it is cooked properly. He gets Faisal to taste it. The co-competitor tells him that it is slightly uncooked but the taste is good. Faisal himself is nervous as he is also performing the task.

Gaurav Khanna’s dish received appreciation from the judges but he did not get the immunity pin. The judges commented on the presentation and chef Vikas Khanna asked him about the overdose of brown on his plate. That is when he revealed that he is colour blind. His revelation left judges shocked.
