India is currently carrying out Operation Sindoor to stop Pakistan’s attacks at the border. The mission is still going on, and the army is handling everything carefully, keeping people informed without causing panic.
But while the operation is still active, Bollywood stepped in with a commercial angle. Nikki Vikki Bhagnani Films released a poster for a new movie titled Operation Sindoor, directed by Uttam Nitin. There is no cast, no script, and the war is not even over, yet they registered the title and released a first-look poster. This move shocked movie lovers, who felt Bollywood is trying to cash in on a sensitive situation.
After criticism, the poster was removed and the producer apologised on Instagram. Meanwhile, over 30 production companies reportedly applied for titles using the name Sindoor. Even Reliance applied at first but later withdrew, saying they didn’t want to make money out of a live military operation.
People online are questioning the race to use emotional national issues for film announcements. Earlier war-based movies like Border, LOC, and Uri were made after the events, with proper research and permission. But announcing a movie while the real mission is still on feels rushed and insensitive. Now, all eyes are on how the Operation Sindoor film team will move forward.
