In the wee hours of Wednesday, the BJP headquarters at Deen Dayal Upadhyay Marg was abuzz with activity as party leaders handled curious questions about Operation Sindoor as well as its media coverage.
Party insiders said a contingent of the leadership in , especially those tasked with media-related responsibilities, including its spokespersons, made their way to the office as soon as news of the strikes emerged. For the next several hours, they handled inquisitive calls from party colleagues from outside the Capital even as they scoured reportage of the attacks, both in international and national media.
This went on for hours before the Centre’s official briefing on the strikes around 10:30 am and continued well after.
On social media, party leaders lauded the armed forces and praised PM , underlining that India was committed to eradicating terror.
Defence Minister , whose post on X — “Bharat Mata ki jai” — was seen among the first messages confirming the attack, later said: “Under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, our forces, by launching ‘Operation Sindoor’, this time too, like before, have given a befitting reply by destroying the camps training terrorists”.
Union Home Minister wrote on X: “Proud of our armed forces. #OperationSindoor is Bharat’s response to the brutal killing of our innocent brothers in Pahalgam. The Modi government is resolved to give a befitting response to any attack on India and its people. Bharat remains firmly committed to eradicating terrorism from its roots.”
