Bollywood actor ‘s is the most-awaited film. Emraan gave a huge surprise on his birthday to all his fans. Speculations about a sequel of Emraan’s 2007 film had been rife and now the actor has finally confirmed the same. The actor is all set to spill his charm in theatres on April 2026 and he announced on his 46th birthday on Monday. Sharing a promo from his hit 2007 film, Emraan captioned the film as, “Bas mujhe kuch aur der zinda rakh #Awarapan2 in cinemas, 3rd April 2026 (sic).” The clip also features Emraan’s character from the film, standing on a boat and looking at the sun.

Awarapan 2 will release in theatres on April 3, 2026 and it is directed by Nitin Kakkar and is produced by Vishesh Bhatt. Awarapan is a 2007 action thriller directed by Mohit Suri and produced by Mukesh Bhatt under Vishesh Films. A few weeks ago, Emraan posted an animated clip featuring his character from Awarapan and song ‘Toh Phir Aao’ played in the background. He captioned the post as “Jummah Mubarak”.

The film starred Emraan Hashmi in the lead role and it also stars Shriya Saran, Mrinalini Sharma, and Ashutosh Rana in pivotal roles. The story of the film follows Shivam (Emraan Hashmi), a hitman working for a ruthless gangster, Malik (Ashutosh Rana). Shivam keeps an eye on Malik’s mistress, Reema (Mrinalini Sharma), but his life takes a sudden turn when he gets to know about her desire for freedom and love. The film has been inspired by the South Korean movie A Bittersweet Life.

Producer Mukesh Bhatt had addressed the popularity about the re-release of Awarapan and Jannat. He spoke to News18 Showsha and said, “Oh my god! I have been hearing this from everywhere. Yes, people have been approaching me about this. But I believe in giving the audience what they truly want. The demand for re-releasing these movies is strong, and I will discuss it with my team before making any decision.” Emraan Hashmi also reflected on Awarapan’s unexpected rise to cult status over the years. “It wasn’t a big success in 2007, but today, it’s my most loved film. Over 20 years, it has gained immense respect. This shows that films can find success over time.”

On the work front, Emraan was last seen on Showtime and the series also featured Naseeruddin Shah, Mahima Makwana and Mouni Roy in key roles.
