Vijay Deverakonda’s Kingdom which was supposed to release this month end has been postponed. The makers officially confirmed that the film will now release on July 4th. Nithiin’s Thammudu was initially planned for that date but Kingdom has taken it now. Nithiin’s movie will further face a postponement.
Taking to X, the makers of Kingdom confirmed the postponement in a note. The team revealed that the reason behind the postponement are the unforeseen events in the country.
“WE WISH TO INFORM THAT THE RELEASE OF OUR FILM KINGDOM, ORIGINALLY SET FOR MAY 30, HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED TO JULY 4. WE EXPLORED EVERY POSSIBILITY TO STICK TO THE ORIGINAL DATE, BUT RECENT UNFORESEEN EVENTS IN THE COUNTRY AND THE CURRENT ATMOSPHERE HAVE MADE IT DIFFICULT FOR US TO MOVE FORWARD WITH PROMOTIONS OR CELEBRATIONS,” wrote the team.
“WE BELIEVE THIS DECISION WILL HELP US PRESENT KINGDOM IN THE BEST POSSIBLE WAY. WITH THE CREATIVE EXCELLENCE AND SPIRIT IT DESERVES. WE TRULY VALUE YOUR SUPPORT AND HOPE TO RECEIVE YOUR LOVE WHEN WE MEET YOU AT THE CINEMAS ON JULY 4. WE’RE GRATEFUL TO DIL RAJU GARU AND NITHIN GARU FOR THEIR UNDERSTANDING AND SUPPORT IN MAKING THIS CHANGE POSSIBLE,” the note read.
In reality, the things are coming back to normalcy and the BCCI also announced the resumption of IPL 2025. The developments at India-Pakistan border are no more generating a tense environment. However, team Kingdom decided to postpone the film owing to the same reason.
Does this impact the existing buzz on the film? We have to wait and watch.
