Rupali Ganguly starrer Anupamaa is running since 2020. The show has been at the top of the TRP charts since it began. The story of a simple housewife has touched the hearts of the audience. She spoke to The Hollywood Reporter and said that people instantly accepted because they see Anu everyday in mothers, chachis, massis and others. Hence, she feels she has a huge responsibility. She believes that the responsibility is more than just playing a character.

She also revealed that women come to her with their problems and cry in her arms. She listens to them and feels that women have been holding their stories inside them for years and Anupamaa has given them the courage to speak up. She does not want to betray them and hence cannot step away.

She said that even if the actor in her craves for different kinds of roles, she has duty towards the people who have invested their emotions. She shared that not just audience, a lot of other things are at stake as there are 200 people working because of the show and many families are dependent.
