For the unversed, the current storyline revolves around Anupamaa who gears up for her daughter Raahi’s wedding. Raahi and Prem will get married soon and Anu is deeply involved in the wedding arrangements. Meanwhile, we get to see Raahi and Prem celebrating Valentine’s Day. However, this year, they decide to spend it with the family in Shah house.
In a romantic moment of sorts, Prem and Raahi vow to ‘grow old with each other’. While surrounded by family, they say ‘We want to grow old with each other’. This scene reminds of Anuj Kapadia (). She recalls how she surprised Anuj by saying ‘I want to grow old with you’. The scene is from the time when Anupamaa () confessed her love for Anuj and proposed to him. Raahi and Prem recreate the scene but with a twist. They say it in front of family as they believe that Valentine’s Day is to shared with people they love. But fans are upset.
Anupamaa fans have lashed out at the makers for replicating the iconic scene involving Anu and Anuj Kapadia. One of the fans, commenting on the scene wrote, “The audience’s journey from “I want to grow old with you” to “we wanna grow old with each other” has been nothing but painful. The audacity to try and replicate iconic MaAn moments is even more disgusting.”
