Anupamaa is one of the most popular shows on the television screens. The current storyline is focused on Raahi (Adrija Addy Roy) and Prem’s (Shivam Khajuria) grand wedding. The makers leave no stones unturned in adding the necessary drama to the plot. A newly surfaced video from the Haldi ceremony is going viral on social media, wherein Prem mistakenly embraces Mahi (Spreha Chatterjee), Kavya’s daughter and Vanraj’s stepdaughter. Prem thinks that she is his fiancée, Raahi. Well, the confusion arises after Mahi wears Raahi’s lehenga and allows Prem to cross the limits. Prem hugs her from behind and Mahi does not stop him.

As Prem turns around, Mahi hides her face and the two both end up on the bed. Prem goes ahead to remove the towel covering her face and Anupamaa walks in. She sees the two together and feels it is her daughter, Raahi, in an intimate moment with Prem. But, the sight instantly triggers memories of her painful past, wherein she had caught her ex-husband, Vanraj, with Kavya.

Prem goes ahead for a kiss and Anupamaa calls out Mahi’s name. Prem opens his eyes, and gets shocked to see Mahi instead of Raahi. After the scene, the netizens flooded the social media to express their outrage and also slammed makers for what they deemed vulgar content. One user wrote, “Oh god… please, #Anupamaa writers, think before scripting such scenes. Why repeat the same trauma over and over?”, another commented saying, “This is absolutely shameless! Instead of creating excitement for the wedding, they’re exploiting her past trauma. Disgusting!”. Another said, “Ban Anupamaa, spreading vulgarity”.

Anupamaa star cast earlier featured Sudhanshu Pandey, Gaurav Khanna, Nidhi Shah, Madalsa Sharma, Shivam Saxena, Gaurav Sharma, Kunwar Amar, and more. After the show took a leap, the majority of the stars left the show.
