Veteran producer AM Rathnam today met Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to seek approval for increased ticket prices for Hari Hara Veera Mallu, starring Pawan Kalyan. The film, set in the 17th century, is a big-budget historical drama crafted on a grand canvas, far from regular commercial cinema.
With massive production costs and a rich cultural backdrop, Rathnam requested special ticket pricing and additional shows in Telangana. Sources say the meeting was constructive, and the government is likely to consider the hike, especially given the film’s genre and scale.
While the Revanth Reddy-led government has been cautious about price hikes, especially after the Pushpa 2 premiere incident, it has shown some flexibility for high-budget films promoting social messages. If approved, Hari Hara Veera Mallu could be among the few to benefit under the new guidelines.
On the other hand, in Andhra Pradesh, the film’s team has submitted a formal request for ticket hikes through the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce. Discussions are underway with state officials to ensure support for the film’s theatrical run.
With efforts on both fronts, the makers are aiming to create a favourable release environment for this much-awaited period epic.
