The team behind Sankranthiki Vasthunnam is on cloud nine, celebrating the film’s massive success as it heads towards the 300 crore mark. Distributors, thrilled with the film’s performance, recently organized a Gratitude Meet to show their appreciation.
During the event, producer Dil Raju recalled an interesting conversation with IT officials following a recent raid. “One IT officer asked me why I continue making movies when the success rate is so low. I told him that 90% of films flop, and only 10% become successful. But we continue to make films out of passion, hoping to deliver hits,” Dil Raju shared.
The producer also discussed the changing mindset of stars in the industry. “Earlier, stars focused on one project at a time due to high budgets. Now, they are taking on multiple films. With more films being made, the success rate inevitably decreases,” he explained.
Director Anil Ravipudi spoke about the rare sight of family audiences attending benefit shows and special screenings in large numbers. “We owe a lot of this success to Venkatesh. He’s been involved in all the promotional events. The heroines also played a key role in promoting the film. I always focus on ensuring the safety of the producer’s money. While we celebrated the success, the distributors were so pleased that they wanted to organize another event to show their gratitude, which is a rare occurrence. But this isn’t the end – we’ll be hosting another event and inviting exhibitors to present them with shields as a token of appreciation.”
Anil Ravipudi also acknowledged the increased pressure and responsibility for his next project, given the immense success of Sankranthiki Vasthunnam.
