Allu Aravind, the star producer is currently busy in finalizing the release planning strategy for his next film Thandel. Bunny Vas is producing the film under the Geetha Arts banner. Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi play the lead roles in the film. The makers held the press meet today to confirm that the film will release on the 7th of February.
While Thandel was initially slated for a release during Sankranthi, the team later decided to opt out, because of the competition with other releases. Allu Aravind explained the logic behind picking a solo release date in the first week of February.

“The logic behind it is that we will not be able to screen our film in a significant number of theatres. The first weekend and the first week’s collection is very important for any big film. The second week is important as well if the film becomes a hit. From third week, the collections will be insignificant,” he said.
“We want a clean date without any opposition. We want to release the film in a maximum number of theatres. We want to keep our film in the public as much as possible during the pre-release. After weighing al calculations, we chose this date,” Aravind explained.
He also went on to say, “Some suggested that we arrive for Maha Sivaratri, but it is the end of February. The exam season begins in March, and the families who give importance to the education system will not be able to watch the film. Considering all that and approaching the distributors and experienced industry people, we picked the 7th as the release date.”
