Aerospace and defence electromechanical components manufacturer Hical Technologies has secured $30–40 million in equity funding from Premji Invest.
The funding will be utilised to expand manufacturing capacity and strengthen engineering and R&D capabilities as the company scales its presence in global aerospace and defence programmes.
The investment comes as Hical is setting up a new manufacturing facility in Hosur and has recently inaugurated another facility in Devanahalli. Exports account for over 90 per cent of the company’s business, reflecting its strong presence in global aerospace and defence supply chains.
The company supplies global aerospace and defence original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) with actuators, motors, solenoids, transformers and integrated electromechanical systems.
Its products are used in Dassault Rafale fighter jets, commercial aircraft, ship and submarine equipment, defence applications, ISRO launch vehicles and satellite systems.
Hical supplies Dassault Aviation for the Rafale programme and manufactures over 1,000 different part numbers used in Boeing and Airbus commercial aircraft and business jet applications.
“As India moves up the aerospace and defence value chain, there is a significant opportunity for specialised Indian suppliers that can meet the quality, traceability and programme requirements of global OEMs,” said Yashas Jaiveer, Managing Director, Hical Technologies.
