Indian Hotels Company Ltd (IHCL) reported a 23 per cent year-on-year increase in net profit in the second quarter of FY27 on the back of strong growth in domestic business.
Net profit in Q2 FY 2027 stood at ₹349 crore, compared to ₹285 crore in the same quarter last year. Revenue rose 21 per cent to ₹2,566 crore, with contributions from the meetings and events segment, as well as from renovated assets in key markets such as Goa, Delhi, Bengaluru and Udaipur. Earnings before interest tax depreciation and amortisation grew 21 per cent year-on-year to ₹788 crore.
The company also revised its full year revenue growth guidance to 15-17 per cent (from 12-14 per cent) banking on new hotel openings, acquisitions and continued momentum in business. The company’s air catering business is also expected to normalise in the third quarter after witnessing pressure in the first half due to flight cancellations.
“This year we will be opening one hotel every week. We have already opened 20 hotels in the first half and plan to open another 30 in the second half,” said IHCL’s Managing Director & CEO Puneet Chhatwal.
“While there is cyclicality, we are seeing a structural shift in business. Hospitality is becoming more and more like a consumption sector,” he added. Chhatwal said the company’s diversified portfolio across segments and geographies is also helping it to sustain growth.
