Ethereal Exploration Guild (The Guild) has unveiled The Anchorage, a 150-acre rocket development and testing facility in Space City, Andhra Pradesh, about 40 km from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC SHAR) at Sriharikota.
The facility will support the development of Razor Crest Mk 1 (RCM1), the company’s fully reusable medium-lift launch vehicle, designed to recover and reuse both its booster and upper stage.
The Guild is developing two semi-cryogenic engines for the vehicle: Pegasus, an 80 kN upper-stage engine, and Stallion, a 1.2 MN booster engine. The company describes Stallion as the world’s most powerful reusable semi-cryogenic rocket engine.
The Anchorage’s commissioned Pegasus Horizontal Static Test Facility supports component-level testing, ignition, thrust-chamber and turbomachinery testing, as well as integrated engine firing. Its pressure-fed testing capability reaches 210 bar, and Pegasus’s first hot-fire test is scheduled for November 2026.
“The Anchorage represents a long-term investment in the capacity development required to test, manufacture and repeatedly operate Razor Crest Mk-1,” said Manu J Nair, Co-founder and CEO of The Guild.
Pegasus incorporates the company’s proprietary Full-Flow Segregated Cooling Cycle (FSCC), which it says is designed specifically to address the thermal and operational requirements of reusable upper stages.
The Guild is also developing the Stallion Vertical Test Facility to enable vertical firing of individual booster engines and clustered-engine testing. Planned infrastructure will support integrated qualification of propulsion systems, propellant tanks, feed systems, structures, avionics and flight software.
“An engine test establishes propulsion performance. Stage qualification examines how that propulsion system operates with the tanks, feed systems, structures, avionics and controls,” said Prashanth Sharma, Co-founder and CTO of The Guild.
The facility’s planned capabilities also include stage-tank fabrication, machining, welding, additive manufacturing and post-flight refurbishment. These facilities are intended to support inspection, repairs, requalification and eventual reuse of flight hardware.
The Guild said The Anchorage would bring manufacturing, testing, vehicle integration, and refurbishment together, building industrial capacity to meet the requirements of a fully reusable medium-lift launch vehicle.
