CashKaro, one of India’s largest cashback platforms, recorded over ₹1,000 crore in gross merchandise value (GMV) across 38 lakh orders on Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra and AJIO during six days of festive sales between October 7 and 12, 2026. That marks an approximately 18-fold jump over a comparable six-day business-as-usual period, with order volumes up more than sevenfold.
The average order value nearly doubled and a half, rising from ₹1,100 to ₹2,639, suggesting shoppers used the festive window to buy higher-value items rather than simply buying more. CashKaro paid out ₹26 crore in cashback during the sale period, up from ₹6.1 crore in a normal six-day window.
Tier 2 cities posted the steepest growth, at 722 per cent, outpacing Tier 1 cities at 684 per cent and Tier 3 at 639 per cent. Bhubaneswar led all cities with roughly 910 per cent GMV growth over the BAU period, followed by Pune at 796 per cent and Patna at 777 per cent. Delhi grew 646 per cent and Mumbai 579 per cent.
Men’s ethnic wear saw 28.6 times the order volume of a regular period, and televisions grew 26.4 times, reflecting strong demand for festive apparel and home upgrades. Laptops, tablets and beauty products also recorded significant jumps. Mobile phones, however, declined 7–10 per cent year-on-year. CashKaro attributed the drop to rising component costs pushing up retail prices, with the category leaning on trade-in schemes and no-cost EMI offers rather than new buyer additions.
Telegram emerged as a notable marketing channel. CashKaro’s sister app EarnKaro powered 80 per cent of deal links shared on the platform. During the six sale days, over five lakh deal posts were shared via EarnKaro links, nearly six times the volume during BAU, driving 50 million clicks to partner sites. Brands increased Telegram marketing spend by over 10 times, with many reporting return on ad spend exceeding 15 times.
Shoppers who stacked festive discounts, bank card offers and CashKaro cashback reduced their effective prices well below the listed sale price, pointing to a more deliberate, value-focused buying pattern this season.
