Bharat Forge Ltd. (BFL) has entered into a long-term contract with Pratt & Whitney Canada, a global leader in aerospace engine, for the supply of mission-critical aerospace engine components.
The move comes after the two companies agreed mid last month to evaluate integration of advanced turboprop engines into a high-altitude, long-endurance (HALE) unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) program, designed and developed by India’s DRDO.
The components will be manufactured at BFL’s state-of-the-art aerospace facility in India, specifically developed to produce high-performance, high-value, aero-engine products, the company said on Tuesday.
The company boasts that the facility integrates advanced manufacturing technologies and operates in accordance with the highest global standards of quality, precision, reliability, and traceability required by the aerospace industry.
Amit Kalyani, Vice-Chairman and Joint Managing Director, Bharat Forge Ltd., said, “We look forward to supporting Pratt & Whitney Canada’s programs and furthering India’s advancement in aerospace manufacturing expertise.”
“We are confident in Bharat Forge’s high-performance aerospace manufacturing capabilities, technical excellence, and a robust commitment to quality that aligns with our niche requirements, to strengthen our supply chain sourcing from India,” said Nathalie Rivet, Vice President, Supply Chain, Pratt & Whitney Canada.
