Mayank’s previous stints include Elevation Capital and McKinsey, and he brings 15 years of venture investing experience, across consumer tech, gaming, healthcare, AI, and deeptech.
He has backed companies including ShareChat, NoBroker, PlaySimple Games, Jeh Aerospace, MOC Cancer Care, Loop Health, Atlys, Seekho, General Autonomy and PierSight.
Commenting on the appointment, Vishal Gupta, Partner at Bessemer, said “We are delighted to welcome Mayank to the Bessemer family.
He has spent 15 years partnering with founders at the earliest stages and helping them build enduring companies. His depth across consumer tech and AI strengthens our early-stage practice in India at exactly the right moment.”
Mayank holds an MBA from IIM-Calcutta along with an engineering degree from IP University.
Mayank himself said, “Joining Bessemer Venture Partners is a privilege. India is producing a generation of founders building with real conviction, and the earliest stages are where an investor can be most useful. Bessemer’s research-led approach and long track record make it the ideal platform to partner with these founders from day one, and I look forward to the journey ahead.”
Bessemer has been active in India for the past two decades. The firm’s legacy investments include Mediassist, Perfios, Swiggy, and Urban Company, among others.
Some of its more recent partnerships have been with Sarvam, Boldfit, Vetic, Easebuzz, Inrisk, Pluro and more. Bessemer announced its second India fund with $350 million of capital in March 2025, with a focus on AI, fintech, enterprise-tech, health, consumer, and cybersecurity.
