Third Wave Coffee, a fastest-growing coffee and food quick service restaurant (QSR) brands, has announced its entry into Kochi with the launch of two cafés at Panampilly Nagar and Noel Focus, Chittethukara.
This market expansion complements the brand’s recent new market entries across Visakhapatnam, Jalandhar, Lucknow, and Ludhiana, further strengthening the presence across India’s high-potential emerging markets. The launch in Kochi marks the brand’s presence in its 27th market, taking its South India footprint to 104 cafés.
Anirudh Sharma, Co-founder, Third Wave Coffee, said, the entry into Kochi aligns with the company’s broader strategy of expanding into markets where specialty coffee is becoming part of everyday food and lifestyle consumption. “Our focus on strengthening our Food Innovation Lab and state-of-the-art roastery further supports this expansion”, he added.

Speaking on the sidelines of the launch, Sharma said the company sees a lot of potential in Keralam. The company is targeting Gen Z’s and younger millennials and the majority remains at the age group of 25-35. “We are also seeing a shift of people towards coffee consumption when they want to experience fewer beverages”, he said adding that people come to coffee shops for great coffee, for the space and experience.
Thiruvananthapuram and Kozhikode are the other two potential markets where the company wants to prioritise, he said.
The company is working with multiple farms largely in Karnataka to source coffee directly from farmers, he said.
With plans to reach approximately 320 locations by FY27, the brand aims to establish a significant presence across metros, Tier 1 and emerging Tier 2 cities throughout the country, Sharma added.
Third Wave Coffee has also recently launched Third Rush Desserts, a dessert forward brand as part of the company’s continued expansion beyond beverages and a more holistic cafe ecosystem.
