Mehli Mistry has stepped down as a trustee from the board of Tata Medical Center, Kolkata.
Mistry, a confidante of late Ratan Tata, informed the board of the medical center he will not seek a re-election upon the end of his term on September 30.
Other trustees on the board include Noel Tata and his children — Neville, Leah and Maya, as well as former Defence Secretary Vijay Singh.
The Tata Medical Center run by Tata Trusts is spread across 13 acres in New Town, Kolkata. Established in 2011 it is an integrated oncology facility with over 400 beds.
Last October, Mistry had stepped down as a trustee in three key Tata trusts after board members voted against his reappointment. Mistry subsequently has raised issues of governance and alleged misconduct by trustees before Charity Commissioner of Maharashtra. The matter is expected to be heard on October 15.
