After witnessing double-digit sell-out growth during Onam, LG Electronics India is expecting to garner strong growth in the upcoming festival season on the back of positive consumer sentiments, higher demand for premium products, new launches, and attractive financing schemes. The company also expects its Essential Series, positioned for first-time buyers, to touch one million unit sales mark by the end of the calendar year.
“We witnessed double-digit sell-out growth during Onam in the Kerala market led by strong interest in premium products. That has set a positive tone for the overall festival season,” Sanjay Chitkara, Co-Chief Sales and Marketing Officer, LG Electronics India told businessline.
He added that in Q1 FY27 the company garnered 15.5 per cent revenue growth despite challenging macroeconomic conditions and price hikes. “In Q2 we expect to exceed our growth over Q1. Going forward, we expect to garner a strong double-digit growth in the festival period,” he added.
Chitkara noted that while the external environment remains challenging, consumer sentiment is bullish. “Retail partners have been stocking up early and this has led to healthy channel situation in terms of inventories. Also, with Diwali falling in November, there is a longer festival selling period entailing better ROI for our advertising investments,” he added.
Chitkara said that the company expects to see strong demand for large sized LED TVs and high capacity washing machines and refrigerators during the festival buying period.
“The growth rate for the 55 inch and above category in LED TVs in Q1 was nearly 53 per cent. After the GST rate cut, large sized TV has emerged as a strong growth category and that makes us bullish on our TV business, ” Chitkara added.
“Consumers no longer view appliances as luxury but a necessity. This has led to growing demand for premium products. Attractive EMI schemes are also supporting premiumisation. We are sharply focusing on longer duration EMI schemes. We have also introduced fixed EMI schemes such as ₹199 or ₹299 per month,” he added.
The company is also betting big on the LG Essential Series, a new line of home appliances created from the ground level with Indian insights, not just for first-time buyers in the domestic market but also exports. “In the first six months of 2026, we have sold 5.5 lakh units of the Essential series. We expect to cross one million [10 lakh] units mark by the end of this calendar year.
In terms of distribution, Chitkara said the company has been growing its exclusive brand outlets footprint with a focus on tier 2 and tier 3 markets where consumers are often deprived of access to newer technologies and premium products.
