Teradyne, a global player in automated test equipment for semiconductors and electronics and advanced robotics systems, has inaugurated its first dedicated office in India in Bengaluru.
The office was inaugurated by Minister for Home, Information Technology, Biotechnology, and E-Governance, Priyank Kharge. Also present at the inaugural was Mr. Dominic Viens VP/GM, Power Test Division at Teradyne., Dr. Avinash Menon, IAS, Director, KIDS, and senior Teradyne executives and industry stakeholders.
The new office at Bagmane Cosmos Tech Park will serve as a local hub for customer engagement, applications support, training and strategic partnerships.
Kharge said the move was an endorsement of Karnataka’s technology and innovation ecosystem. “Karnataka has always believed that government must create the environment for innovation to thrive. Bengaluru has evolved from being called a pensioner’s paradise to becoming home to some of the biggest disruptors in AI, innovation, deep technology and advanced engineering. Today, we have 21 Centres of Excellence creating platforms for industry, academia, startups and government to work together, develop joint intellectual property and solve real-world problems. We want companies like Teradyne to collaborate not only with the government, but also with our startups, institutions and Centres of Excellence. If there are opportunities across the semiconductor supply chain, the Government of Karnataka is happy to have those conversations and enable them.”

Teradyne’s Bengaluru office comes at a time when India is rapidly expanding its semiconductor manufacturing, packaging and testing capabilities. The company’s local presence will strengthen its ability to support India’s growing base of chipmakers and electronics manufacturers, while adding critical test and measurement capabilities to the country’s semiconductor value chain. The Bengaluru office will also enable Teradyne to deepen engagement with Karnataka’s ecosystem of semiconductor design, prototyping, fabless innovation, OSAT, advanced manufacturing and deep engineering talent.
