Murugappa Group company EID Parry on Wednesday reported a 42 per cent decline in net profit for the quarter ended June 2026 (Q1FY27). Consolidated profit (after tax and non-controlling interest) was at ₹142 crore as compared to ₹246 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. Consolidated revenue grew at a marginal 3 per cent YoY at ₹9,017 crore.
On a standalone basis, the sugar company reported a standalone net loss for the quarter at ₹89 crore as compared to a loss of ₹28 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. This loss included an impairment of investments in subsidiary, Parry Sugars Refinery India Pvt Ltd (PSRIPL) of ₹19 crore. On a standalone basis, revenue from operations for the quarter ended June 30, 2026 was ₹733 crore as compared to ₹756 crore in the same quarter of the previous year.
Muthiah Murugappan, Whole-time Director and Chief Executive Officer, EID Parry, said the sugar segment recorded revenue of ₹410 crore for the quarter ended 30 June 2026, compared to ₹347 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year, reflecting a growth of 18%, primarily driven by higher sales volumes.
“The benefits arising from higher sales volumes were offset by increased operational costs, including certain one-time expenses incurred during the quarter,” he said in a statement.

Revenues in the distillery segment declined 14 per cent YoY, and the company attributed the decline primarily to lower offtake of Extra Neutral Alcohol (ENA) by IMFL manufacturers in Tamil Nadu. The segment reported a profit of ₹9 crore for the quarter ended 30 June 2026, as against ₹20 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
The Consumer Products Group (CPG) reported revenue of ₹94 crore for the quarter ended 30 June 2026, compared to ₹188 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. “Despite the decline in revenue, the segment recorded an improvement in operating margins, driven by a deliberate recalibration of its operating model and a sharper focus on profitability,” EID Parry said.
The Nutraceuticals segment reported flat revenue at ₹6 crore for Q1FY27.
The shares of EID Parry were trading at around ₹771, down about 1.75% on the BSE at 3 pm.
