TTK Prestige is seeing a broad-based replacement and refurbishment cycle emerging in India’s kitchenware market, with consumers increasingly upgrading even functional products for better design, newer materials, and greater cooking efficiency.
The company said the trend, initially triggered by the demand for induction cooktops, has spread to cookware, cookers, and even small domestic appliances.
The company has added 250–300 SKUs (stock keeping units) over the last two years, said Venkatesh Vijayaraghavan, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the company. It has also expanded its kitchenware capacity by 50–60 per cent, and it’s expected to nearly double from two years ago by the end of this year.
Induction capacity has also nearly doubled, while the demand for the category is growing at about 150 per cent year-on-year.
The company expects the current demand cycle to moderate but settle at a higher level, with premiumisation remaining its core growth strategy. E-commerce, currently at about 20 per cent of sales, is expected to stabilise at 25–30 per cent, while the company is also seeing strong growth through its 750-plus own stores and general trade.
That said, the company’s mass market is also growing, said Vijayaraghavan, adding that the kitchenware appliances brand, Judge, has benefitted with consumers shifting from unbranded to branded products.
In the quarter ended June, TTK Prestige reported a consolidated net profit of ₹59.33 crore and a near 34 per cent growth in its operating revenue to about ₹814 crore.
