Ambuja Cements, a part of Adani Group company, reported that its net profit in the June quarter was down 37 per cent at ₹660 crore against ₹1,041 crore logged in the same period last year, on lower realisation and fall production.
Revenue was down at ₹9,474 crore (₹10.244 crore). Sales volume dipped 8 per cent to 17 (18.4) million tonne.
Overall expenses were down at ₹8,802 crore (₹9,162 crore) on back of fall in power and freight cost at ₹2,389 crore (₹2,513 crore) and ₹2,258 crore (₹2,423 crore).

Ebitda per tonne was down at ₹931 (₹1,069).
The company expects to increase overall capacity to 119 MTPA by FY’27 and
Ambuja Cements commenced trial production at Dahej (1.2 MTPA), Salai Banwa (2.4 MTPA), Bathinda (1.2 MTPA) and Jodhpur (2 MTPA).
It will commission units at Kalamboli (1 MTPA), Warisaliganj (2.4 MTPA) next year and Maratha clinker line (4 MTPA) will be commissioned in 2027.
On a standalone basis, the company’s net profit was down 37 per cent at ₹504 crore (₹797 crore) while revenue was up 3 per cent at ₹6,328 crore (₹6,148 crore). Sales volume was up 2 per cent at 11.7 mt (11.5 mt). Ebitda per tonne was down 10 per cent at ₹797 (₹887).
Vinod Bahety, Whole Time Director and CEO, Ambuja Cements said higher trade sales and an increased share of premium products strengthened market mix, resulting in improved profitability and quality of earnings.
Despite temporary cost headwinds arising from the West Asia geopolitical tensions, the company delivered a sequential cost reduction of ₹206 a tonne through operational excellence, improved energy efficiency, a lower clinker factor and disciplined cost management. This resulted in a 331 bps QoQ expansion in EBITDA margin to 16.7 per cent, he added.
Looking ahead, the company is on track to increase capacity to 119 MTPA by the end of FY’27, with the commissioning of Dahej (1.2 MTPA), Salai Banwa (2.4 MTPA), Bathinda (1.2 MTPA) Jodhpur (2 MTPA), Kalamboli (1 MTPA) and Warisaliganj (2.4 MTPA). The company is also firmly on course to deliver cost reduction of about ₹250 per tonne to achieve targeted cost of ₹4,250 a tonne by end of FY’27, he said.
