Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) on Monday announced a significant milestone in its electric vehicle (EV) ecosystem journey, offering access to over 30,000 EV charging points across India through its myHyundai app. This platform is being set up in partnership with leading CPOs and service providers.
Tarun Garg, MD & CEO, HMIL, in a release, said with charging infrastructure being a key catalyst for EV adoption in India, HMIL is committed to creating an ecosystem that makes electric mobility practical, convenient and accessible to all.
Importantly, the platform is open to EV owners across brands, reinforcing HMIL’s commitment to developing India’s broader EV ecosystem, Garg said.
HMIL will more than triple its proprietary DC fast public charging network from 183 stations today to 600 stations by 2030, bringing India’s charging infrastructure closer to global benchmarks, he said.
Through the myHyundai app, customers benefit from a unified digital platform that provides access to charging facilities within an average radius of 25 km across India, including major highways such as Delhi-Gurgaon-Jaipur, Mumbai-Pune-Bengaluru, Mumbai-Ratnagiri-Goa, Chennai-Vellore-Bengaluru, and Hyderabad-Kurnool-Bengaluru, among others.
HMIL-owned charging network also has supported over 3 lakh EV customers while delivering more than 50 lakh kWh of energy through its infrastructure, says the release.
On its roadmap for introducing EVs in India, the company said it plans to enter the mass-market EV segment by introducing an SUV EV this financial year.
