Pooja Hegde’s search for a solid box-office success continues, with her latest release Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai reportedly heading towards a disappointing theatrical run. Despite being one of the most recognizable faces in Indian cinema, the actress has struggled to find consistent success in recent years, with several of her films failing to make a significant impact.
The latest setback has once again sparked discussions about her choice of projects. While Pooja has often been part of star-driven commercial entertainers, many believe it is time for her to prioritize strong stories and performance-oriented roles rather than films where glamour becomes the primary focus.
Interestingly, even if content-driven films do not always translate into major box-office success, they can still enhance an actor’s filmography and earn critical appreciation. Several actresses have successfully reinvented themselves through such choices, building a respected body of work despite mixed commercial results.
Looking ahead, Pooja does have a few promising projects in hand. Her upcoming Telugu film with Dulquer Salmaan, tentatively referred to as DQ41, has generated curiosity among audiences. Additionally, Kanchana 4 could offer her a chance to be part of a popular and commercially viable franchise.
At this stage of her career, the focus should perhaps be on quality over quantity. Rather than signing films merely to maintain a busy lineup, carefully selecting meaningful characters and strong scripts could prove to be the turning point Pooja Hegde needs.
