Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have picked a player replacement for , who injured his right foot during their game against Mumbai Indians on May 3rd. Ghosh, the cricketer from Maharashtra, who played only one match in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, has now been ruled out for the season.
will join CSK for INR 30 lakh as a replacement for Ghosh.
An all-rounder from Karnataka, Noronha was recently awarded the MA Chidambaram Trophy at the Naman Awards for being the highest run-getter in the 2024/25 Colonel CK Nayudu Trophy. Following a stellar season, Noronha received a call-up from the Karnataka team for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, wherein he featured in three games for his state.
Amid all the teams facing multiple injury concerns, CSK have been hurt the most. They have already said goodbye to Ayush Mhatre, Khaleel Ahmed, and Nathan Ellis before Ghosh’s exit. Meanwhile, Dewald Brevis also missed the start of the season due to an injury where CSK failed to win any games. Lastly, MS Dhoni, suffering from a calf strain, has still not recovered and will be missing the match on May 15 as well.
If reports are to be believed, the legendary cricketer, who has led the franchise to five IPL titles, was earlier supposed to travel with the squad to Lucknow ahead of the match against LSG at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Stadium on Friday, but the possibility has now been ruled out, as he is unavailable, at least for the time being.
