Tillotama Shome starrer Shadowbox has won two awards at the UK Asian Film Festival. The 2025 Bengali film won the Best Actor and the Emerging Curators Choice Award at the UK Asian Film Festival. The Best Actor has been won by Tillotama Shome.
The film marks the directorial debut of Tanushree Das and Saumyananda Sahi. As per an interview with Vogue India, director Tanushree Das said, “Because Kolkata is my home, we realised that the more personal you get, the more universal it becomes.” Shome added, “We had to think about the kind of film we wanted to make, what do we leave someone with at the end of our film? It was born out of our suffering and helplessness during the pandemic.”
