In an exclusive conversation around his latest quirky comedy film Toaster, Rajkummar Rao spoke about the film’s unusual premise. The story follows a miser who goes to absurd lengths to retrieve a toaster he had gifted at a wedding after the ceremony is called off, setting off a chain of bizarre and chaotic events.
Opening up about fatherhood, Rao said, “Oh, it’s the most beautiful thing. I think that a human can experience is just to have a kid. Because that emotion… I also used to hear from my friends, that their parents are like, you have no idea. You actually have no idea, right? Yeah, things will change, it’s the most… But you don’t understand. Yes, I don’t understand. Until you experience it yourself, you will never understand that emotion that how in a second, the meaning of your life changes.”
The film also stars Sanya Malhotra alongside Rao and features a strong ensemble cast including Archana Puran Singh, Abhishek Banerjee, Farah Khan, Upendra Limaye, Vinod Rawat, Jitendra Joshi and Seema Pahwa. Directed by Vivek Das Chaudhary and produced by Patralekhaa, the film started streaming
