Iran’s Revolutionary Guards vowed to “pursue and kill” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu amid the ongoing war with Israel and the United States.
Calling him a “child-killing criminal”, the Guards said that they will continue to target Netanyahu with full force if he remains alive.
“If this child-killing criminal is alive, we will continue to pursue and kill him with full force,” news agency AFP reported citing Sepah News, the official website of the Guards.
This comes after the Israeli prime minister issued a veiled threat to kill Iran’s new Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei.
“”I wouldn’t issue life insurance policies on any of the leaders of the terrorist organization … I don’t intend to provide an exact report here about what we are planning or what we are going to do,” Netanyahu said on being asked whether Israel would target Mojtaba or Naim Qassem, the leader of Hezbollah.
‘Creating the optimal conditions for toppling the regime,’ says Netanyahu
The Israeli PM, on Thursday (Mar 12) in his first address since the war began, said that Israel was creating the optimal conditions for toppling the Iranian regime.
“I will not detail the actions we are taking. We are creating the optimal conditions for toppling the regime but I won’t deny that I can’t tell you with all certainty that the people of Iran will topple the regime – a regime is toppled from the inside,” Netanyahu said on being asked if Israel was arming the opponents of Iranian rulers.
“But we can definitely help and we are helping,” he said.
He also vowed to keep striking Iran-backed Hezbollah after the Lebanon based group opened fire on March 2 to avenge the killing of Iran’s supreme leader Ali Khamenei.
He further addressed the Iranian people and said the change in Iran would depend on them.
“The moment when you can embark on a new path of freedom — that moment is approaching,” he said.
“We stand by you, we are helping you. But at the end of the day it depends on you. It is in your hands,” he added.
