Nitesh Tiwari’s upcoming magnum opus, Ramayana, has been the talk of the town, not just for its grand scale and storytelling but also for its stellar cast. Ranbir Kapoor steps into the role of Lord Ram, while Kannada superstar Yash embodies the formidable Raavana. However, recent reports suggest that the two actors will scarcely share the screen, with their characters’ paths intersecting only during the film’s climax.
Sources indicate that while Ranbir has completed his portions, Yash commenced filming after a visit to the Mahakal Temple in Ujjain. The production, spanning two parts, is set against the backdrop of elaborate sets and is scheduled for release during Diwali 2026 and Diwali 2027, respectively.
Beyond Ramayana, Ranbir Kapoor has an impressive slate of upcoming projects. He is set to reunite with director Sanjay Leela Bhansali for Love & War, a romantic drama co-starring Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal, slated for release in March 2026. He is also rumored to take on the antagonist’s role in Dhoom 4, a reboot of the popular action franchise, with filming anticipated to begin in December 2025.
