There has been a gradual increase of crossover appearances by south Indian talent in Bollywood. While the big stars like Rajinikanth and Mohanlal predominantly appeared in south films, their presence in Bollywood had almost blurred the lines between regional and pan-India cinema. The new trend reflects the Hindi cinema’s inclination toward incorporating diverse talent from south to enrich performance, scale and storytelling.
Meanwhile, Jr NTR is the first south Indian star to enter the world of YRF Spy universe with War2 thus joining the big league of stars Salman Khan, Hritik Roshan and Shah Rukh Khan.
If there’s anything to go by in Bollywood circles, Jr NTR’s role is being treated as a long-term investment in the YRF cinematic universe similar to Khan’s Pathaan and Salman Khan’s Tiger. It is learnt that his character won’t just be limited to War 2. Fans can expect standalone flicks, spin-offs and major crossover appearances in the near future.
According to the industry buzz, Jr NTR’s role in War2 is being elevated as much to meet the standards of spy universe legends Kabir (Hrithik Roshan) Pathaan (SRK), Tiger (Salman), Zoya (Katrina Kaif) and Rubaii (Deepika Padukone).
War2 is just a beginning for the ‘RRR’ actor as he gears up for an electrifying Bollywood debut joining alongside Hrithik and Kiara Advani. It seems that Aditya Chopra is carving out a proper shape to NTR’s role to bring that larger-than-life appeal on the screen. And this is not going to be limited as NTR will have far more films to come.
