India Wednesday rejected in Arunachal Pradesh, and said that “creative naming will not alter the undeniable reality,” and that the state “was, is, and will always remain an integral part” of the country.
“We have noticed that China has persisted with its vain and preposterous attempts to name places in the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh. Consistent with our principled position, we reject such attempts categorically,” the official spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs Randhir Jaiswal said on Wednesday.
Issuing a statement in response to media queries, Jaiswal wrote: “Creative naming will not alter the undeniable reality that Arunachal Pradesh was, is, and will always remain an integral and inalienable part of India.”
The statement comes after China’s sustained efforts of renaming various places in Arunachal Pradesh. In April 2024, of various places in the Indian state, which , asserting that the state is an integral part of the country and assigning “invented” names does not alter this reality.
