After a long hiatus from Telugu cinema, Samantha made a return with Shubham, as a producer. Billed to be a horror comedy, the film was released on Friday, along with Sree Vishnu’s Single. Despite the positive word of mouth, the performance of Subham at the box office has been ok. But, Single managed to score a good number, in spite of the situations in the country.
On its opening day, Shubham managed to gross ₹1.5 crore, as revealed in an official poster released by the team. Samantha had been actively promoting the film for days leading up to its release. But it appears that her star power didn’t quite translate into ticket sales.
Sree Vishnu’s romantic comedy #Single collected a much stronger ₹4.15 crores. Additionally, the re-release of Chiranjeevi’s evergreen classic Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari raked in ₹1.75 crores.
#Single has a potential chance to get better during the weekend. At the same time, there’s hope that Subham might pick up over the weekend through positive word of mouth.
