In recent years, terms like “50 Days” or “100 days” in the context of box office success have become increasingly rare. No matter how much a film earns, it’s quite unusual for a theatrical run to last more than a month. Films like RRR, Devara, and Kalki have all faced a similar fate. But Pushpa 2: The Rule is an exception, not only in terms of box office collections but also in setting long-lasting records. The film is proving that it has no intention of slowing down.
Today marks the 50th day of this massive blockbuster. According to trade sources, Pushpa 2 continues its successful run across nearly 500 screens, including straight and shifting ones. Reports suggest that despite being an older film, it still commands significant screen space in Telugu states, with 20+ centers operating without a change in theatres.
As of now, Pushpa 2 is nearing the 2,000-crore mark. Recently, the film got an additional 20 minutes added to its runtime under the title Pushpa 2 Reloaded, giving it a fresh boost in collections. After the Sankranti season, it surpassed the Game Changer film on BookMyShow, which took the distribution industry by surprise. The film’s strategic decision to delay its digital release, especially in the northern states, turned out to be a smart move, with audiences rushing to theaters rather than waiting for streaming.
Producers have confirmed that the digital version won’t be available for streaming until 56 days after its release, prompting a majority of fans to flock to cinemas. Special fan celebrations are scheduled for this evening in Hyderabad.
